Privacy Policy

Konvo AI ("Konvo", "we", "us") is an iOS app built by an independent developer. This policy describes what we collect, what we don't, and your rights. Plain language only.

What we collect

Practice data, on your device. Your goals, drill responses, methods you've practiced, streak count, and progress stats are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData. We do not upload this to our servers and we cannot read it.

Anonymous usage events. When you make a paid purchase, RevenueCat (our subscription provider) receives a randomized device identifier so we can verify your subscription is active. We do not link this to your name, email, or Apple ID.

Feedback you send us. If you tap "Send feedback" in the app, your message and a short device summary (app version, iOS version, device model) are sent to thinht7110@gmail.com via your iPhone's Mail app. We only see what you write.

AI conversation content. The drill scenarios and AI-coached chat replies are generated by Anthropic's Claude API. Your typed responses during practice are sent to Anthropic, evaluated, and the response is returned. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing: anthropic.com/legal/privacy. We do not store the content of these conversations on our servers.

Profile details sent with each practice request. So that scenarios feel personal rather than generic, the first name you enter during setup, plus the gender, age range and interests you select, are sent to Anthropic alongside your practice reply. You can enter any name you like — it is never checked, never linked to your Apple ID, and never stored on our servers. If you would rather not share a real first name, use a nickname.

Reported content. If you long-press an AI message and report it, your email app opens with the reported message, the reason you picked, and your app version, iOS version and device model. Nothing is sent until you press send in your own mail app, and we only receive what you choose to send.

Product analytics. Konvo uses PostHog to record which screens you reach while setting up the app, and whether the subscription screen loaded correctly. This is how we find out where the app is confusing or broken. It is tied to a random device identifier, not to you.

Screen recordings. PostHog also records screen interactions inside the app, so we can see where people get stuck. Text you type is masked and never captured, and neither are images. We see that a screen was reached and what was tapped, not what you wrote. Recordings are stored in the EU and deleted automatically after 30 days.

About the AI

Everything you practice against is generated by AI. The practice partners in Konvo, their names, ages, jobs and personalities, are invented by a language model. They are not real people, they are not based on real people, and no one is reading your practice conversations on the other end.

The coaching can be wrong. Scores, feedback and suggested replies are produced by a model, not a qualified professional. It sometimes misreads a reply, scores inconsistently, or suggests something that would not land in your actual situation. Treat it as practice, not as instruction, and use your own judgement about what to say to real people.

Konvo is not therapy or professional advice. It is a practice tool for everyday conversation. It is not counselling, mental health treatment, or relationship advice, and it is not a substitute for any of them. If you are struggling with anxiety or distress, please talk to a qualified professional.

We act on reports. When you report an AI message, a human, the developer, reads it and adjusts the prompts behind the model so the same thing is less likely to appear again.

What we do NOT collect

• Your email, phone number, or Apple ID.
• Your contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera, or health data.
• Your conversations with people outside the app.
• Your last name, or any account you hold anywhere else.
• Anything that lets us build a profile of you across apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you.

The one exception is the first name you type during setup, which is sent with practice requests as described above. Because you choose it yourself and we never verify it, it does not identify you unless you want it to.

Third parties

Konvo uses these services. Their privacy policies apply to data they process:

Your rights

You can delete all local Konvo data at any time by deleting the app from your iPhone. There is no server-side account to close. If you sent us feedback by email and want it deleted, email thinht7110@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Children

Konvo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above. Continuing to use Konvo after a change means you accept the new policy.
